Lace frontals and lace closures are incredibly delicate and are in need of some specific TLC from time to time. Goddess of wigs and founder of custom wig company Cipher, Beauty Pro Mikai shares her top tips for taking care of your lace frontal at home.

Look Don’t Touch
As a general rule of thumb: no scratching, no intense scrubbing, no combing – and try not to use poor quality hair products.
Keep It Light
Avoid super dense frontals, these include frontals with a very thick hairline, grey lace or thick lace. If you have a light skin tone, ensure your lace is transparent as frontals can be tinted all shades darker, but can’t be made lighter!

New Glue
When your frontal begins to lift and needs re-gluing, remove all glue residue using 91% isopropyl alcohol to prevent excess shedding and product buildup.

That’s A Wrap
When sleeping, ensure you tie a silk or satin scarf around your hairline. This helps to prevent friction, which is a major source of shedding and tangling.
